A Historical Example of How An
Overspending Government Can Attack Civil Rights:
An emperor overspent, to pay for the spending, he took last silver out of the Denarius, which became a bronze coin. The Denarius had been the silver basic coin of the empire.
Inflation came, the inevitable consequence of debasing currency.
The emperor, Diocletian, imposed wage&price orders. As in Nixon's time with undrilled plywood, some items became unavailable, workers changed jobs &shops closed.
Diocletian ordered workers into their Dad's jobs, changing jobs became crime-the loss of the ability to change jobs meant serfdom hit Europe for 1000 years, the last serfs were not freed until the 1890.s in Russia, although other places freed serfs as early as 1400..

The nation's problems are rooted in three things:
a) Politicians who ignore the country, dividing and aggravating differences to gain
personal political power or advantage for small groups over the people as a whole.
b) the attitude that the Federal Treasury is bottomless and should pay for everything, and
c) the attitudethat that every problem has a one-size-fits-all Federal solution.
All three are wrong, and harmful! We must restore sanity to, our government.
Rampant growth in Federal Spending and National Debt is unsustainable--if continued we'll suffer just like Greece, who are going under now.
I promise zero-based budgeting, with balanced budget, spending limit, and no-unfunded-mandate amendments (like those the States have), to limit government growth.
Return political and economic power to the States -- No sending taxes to Washington just to feed a Federal bureaucracy and eventually get a tithe back with lots of strings.
Cap and Trade is unsound engineering and threatens U.S. Industry. I will promote an Energy Independence Plan based on US resources. Stable, secure, on-shore energy and fuel supply is a strategic necessity for the U.S. military security also!

This is a Roman Silver Denarius of 233 AD.
As time passed, they were made of cheaper alloy -- "debased." In time, the denarius became silverplated copper, then copper.
The British used "D" as the symbol for the penny in days of pounds and shillings. D stands for denarius - the copper (now copperplated zinc) penny is what the Roman silver coin became after millennia of inflation!
